Four doors into the atlas

Each category links to a deep sheet. Start where your water bottles and experience match — not where Instagram looks prettiest.

DLT-01

Nile Delta lattice

Canal shoulders, village cores, farm connectors around Tanta, Mahalla, and Kafr El-Zayat. The everyday poetry of Gharbia asphalt — best before the sun owns the wires.

30–90 kmMostly flatDawn preferred12 sheets
DST-04

Desert fringe weekends

Hardpack beyond the green line toward Fayoum edges and western desert connectors. Heat as coach. Turn-around rules that are non-negotiable.

COR-12

Destination corridors

Alexandria crosswind, Cairo timing puzzles, Red Sea climbs, and home Delta returns — treated as trips with logistics, not casual spins.

DLT-07

Canal shoulder 42

Signature Tanta dawn loop — El-Galaa roll-out, Bahr Shebin corridor, farm return via quiet asphalt. The sheet most new riders should read first.

Reading sheets

How to read a Kassa route note

Every Kassa sheet follows the same field logic so you can scan fast at 05:00 with one eye on your tyre pressure. We do not hide warnings in paragraph thirteen.

Field What it means
Sheet code Category prefix + number (DLT = Delta, DST = Desert, COR = Corridor). Bookmark the code when you write the desk.
Start pin Practical landmark — a square, bridge, or bakery — not a GPS fantasy in a field.
Surface Honest mix: asphalt, hardpack, farm track, irrigation mud after release. Tyre choice follows surface.
Shade score Low / medium / high — critical in Gharbia summers where tree cover is scarce on canal roads.
Bail-outs Towns or squares where you can shorten, refuel, or call support without shame.
Last checked When a desk rider verified the corridor. Older than 60 days? Write us before you commit.
Desk tip Screenshot the bail-out list, not just the map line. Egyptian roads change faster than GPX files update. Questions: +20 100 738 9996 · [email protected]

A route sheet is not a trophy. It is a contract with the road — what you will find, when to turn back, and where to buy water when your plan meets reality. — Kassa route desk · Sheet 02

Season logic

When to ride which corridor

Egypt’s cycling calendar is not four equal seasons. It is heat, dust, irrigation, and the social rhythm of Friday mornings. Use this table as a starting point — then check the desk for the week you plan to roll out.

Season Best for Avoid Start time
Oct – Nov Delta long rides, first desert edges, destination planning Nothing critical — prime atlas season 05:30–06:30
Dec – Feb Desert fringe, Alexandria corridors, training blocks Early fog on canal roads — lights required 06:00–07:00
Mar – Apr Delta loops, group starts, Kafr El-Zayat runs Midday heat returning — finish by 10:00 05:15–06:00
May – Sep Short dawn Delta loops only Desert fringe, long exposed corridors, noon bravery 05:00–05:45
