Terms of Use

1. The service

Kassa publishes a cycling field atlas — route sheets, gear guidance, training notes, safety protocols, event announcements, and journal essays — for riders interested in Egypt, especially the Nile Delta region around Tanta. We operate a small desk at El-Galaa, Second Tanta, Gharbia Governorate, Egypt.

All content is informational and educational. It is not professional coaching, medical advice, legal advice, or official government guidance on road use. You remain responsible for your own decisions on and off the bike.

2. Acceptance

By accessing kassa-eg.xyz, submitting the contact form, emailing us, or joining a Kassa-announced ride, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site or participate in our activities.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change accordingly. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

3. Riding at your own risk

Cycling involves inherent and serious risks including but not limited to:

• Motor vehicle traffic, road debris, and unpredictable driver behaviour
• Weather extremes — heat, wind, sandstorms, and sudden temperature changes
• Terrain variation — potholes, loose gravel, irrigation water, and unmarked shoulders
• Mechanical failure — brake failure, tyre blowouts, chain drops
• Physical exertion — dehydration, heat illness, collision with other riders or objects
• Remote areas with limited mobile coverage or emergency access

When you follow a route note published on kassa-eg.xyz or join a Kassa-organised group ride, you do so voluntarily and at your own risk. You are solely responsible for:

• Assessing your fitness and preparedness for a given route or event
• Maintaining your bicycle and safety equipment in working order
• Carrying adequate water, nutrition, tools, and communication devices
• Obeying applicable traffic laws and exercising prudent judgment
• Deciding whether conditions on the day make a ride unsafe to proceed

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kassa, its operators, contributors, ride leaders, and volunteers shall not be liable for any injury, death, loss, theft, property damage, or other harm arising from your use of site content or participation in cycling activities connected to Kassa, whether on published routes or at organised events.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

4. Route and event information

Route conditions change — construction, seasonal irrigation, harvest traffic, and weather alter corridors without notice. Distances, surfaces, and timing notes are based on field observations at the time of publication and may become outdated.

Event details (start times, meet points, participant limits) may be adjusted for safety or logistics. We will attempt to notify confirmed riders of material changes, but you should verify details before travelling.

GPX files and map pins are aids, not guarantees. Never follow digital tracks blindly through active traffic, markets, or closed paths.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the site in any way that violates applicable law or third-party rights
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise site infrastructure or security
• Scrape or harvest content in a manner that impairs site operation
• Submit abusive, harassing, defamatory, or unlawful content through our contact channels
• Impersonate Kassa operators or misrepresent affiliation with our desk
• Present Kassa materials as official government, municipal, or transport authority guidance
• Use site content to encourage reckless riding or harassment of other road users

We may restrict access or refuse correspondence from users who violate these rules.

6. Intellectual property

Original text, design, layout, route sheet structure, and branding on kassa-eg.xyz are owned by Kassa unless otherwise stated. You may:

• Link to our pages with a fair description
• Quote brief excerpts with attribution and a link to the source page
• Share route pins or event listings for personal, non-commercial coordination with other riders

You may not without prior written permission:

• Republish substantial portions of route sheets, training plans, or journal essays
• Use Kassa branding, logos, or name to imply endorsement of products or services
• Mirror the site or sell access to our content

Photographs on the site may be used under their respective licences (including locally hosted stock imagery). Respect those licences when reusing images.

7. User submissions

If you send journal stories, photographs, route corrections, or other content to Kassa, you represent that:

• You created the content or have the rights and permissions to share it
• Your submission does not infringe third-party copyright, privacy, or other rights
• Factual route corrections are made in good faith based on your own observation

By submitting content for publication, you grant Kassa a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to edit, format, and publish the material on kassa-eg.xyz and related communications, with attribution as you approve. You retain ownership of your original work.

We may decline to publish submissions that do not fit our editorial standards, contain unsafe encouragement, or lack verifiable field detail.

8. Group ride conduct

Participation in Kassa-organised rides is conditional on:

• Wearing a helmet for the duration of the ride
• Following communicated hand signals, pace, and traffic protocols
• Not using headphones during group rides
• Respecting ride leaders, sweepers, and other participants
• Disclosing relevant health or fitness limitations when asked

Ride leaders may exclude participants who create unsafe conditions or refuse basic protocols. Exclusion does not entitle you to any refund of shared logistics costs already incurred.

9. Third-party links and services

Our pages may link to external maps, tools, shops, or references. Those links are provided for convenience. Kassa does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, availability, or privacy practices. Use them at your own discretion.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

kassa-eg.xyz and all content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that route information is complete or current.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kassa shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the site or participation in related activities.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the site or these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Kassa for the specific service giving rise to the claim in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred Egyptian pounds if no such payment was made.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kassa and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the site, violation of these Terms, or harm caused to third parties through your riding activities, except where such claims result from our gross negligence or wilful misconduct where liability cannot be limited by law.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of competent courts in Egypt, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country provides otherwise for non-commercial users.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
